چکیده
Background Cuffed tracheal tubes (CTT) emerge to prevent air leakage despite that most anaesthesiologists prefer the uncuffed (UTT) in paediatrics. Using recent tools for evaluation of endotracheal intubation sequelae may help airway injury and determine appropriate type size tube (ETT).Purpose The study aimed detect early changes after using CTT or UTT Also, find out correlation between endoscopic ultrasonographic findings detection post paediatrics. Methods A prospective, randomized was performed over 80 children aged from two five years, scheduled abdominal surgeries under effect general anaesthesia. Patients were assigned into equal groups: Group C: U: UTT.Results There less statistically significant ETT exchange group C (p = 0.020). No difference could be found as regard change subglottic diameter, incidence stridor, laryngospasm croup, occurrence injuries. a positive diameter prevalence injuries (P 0.014). duration not influence neither stridor nor both groups. Conclusion no use paediatrics terms changes. However, rate is significantly lower when CTT. ultrasound Short-term affects severity external instead inner crucial proper sizing

Uncuffed versus Cuffed Endotracheal Tubes
SPA-APA Meeting San Francisco 2007 1 Uncuffed versus Cuffed Endotracheal Tubes Markus Weiss, MD, Zurich, Switzerland During the last five decades, uncuffed tracheal tubes were recommended for routine use in children aged below 8 years. Cuffed tracheal tubes in patients younger than 8 years of age were only exceptionally used for special indications. In the last 10 years a change in clinical pra...

To the Editor: Textbooks ascribe negligible risk to standard noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP) devices.1,2 We report a complication from an appropriately placed cuff. Consent for publication was obtained in conformance with institutional publication consent guidelines. The cuff was placed on an athletic male and used during supine induction, then immediately inactivated after radial arterial ca...
متن کاملA review of cuffed vs uncuffed endotracheal tubes in children
Background The use of cuffed endotracheal tubes in paediatric patients is still a controversial topic. This paper aims to investigate whether cuffed or uncuffed tubes should be used in children under the age of 8 based on the literature that is currently available on this topic. Currently there are no guidelines on this topic. Methods The literature review has been taken in consideration Result...

BACKGROUND The use of cuffed tracheal tubes (TTs) in small children is still controversial. The aim of this study was to compare post-extubation morbidity and TT exchange rates when using cuffed vs uncuffed tubes in small children. METHODS Patients aged from birth to 5 yr requiring general anaesthesia with TT intubation were included in 24 European paediatric anaesthesia centres. Patients wer...
متن کاملPAEDIATRICS Prospective randomized controlled multi-centre trial of cuffed or uncuffed endotracheal tubes in small children
Methods. Patients aged from birth to 5 yr requiring general anaesthesia with TT intubation were included in 24 European paediatric anaesthesia centres. Patients were prospectively randomized into a cuffed TT group (Microcuff PET) and an uncuffed TT group (Mallinckrodt, Portex, Rüsch, Sheridan). Endpoints were incidence of post-extubation stridor and the number of TT exchanges to find an appropr...
